Echlor Self-Cleaning Technology for Continuous Operation without Acid Cleaning
CTE cell consists principally of two titanium tubes, one inside the other, with seawater flowing through the annular space between them. By passing an electric current through the seawater, the sodium chloride contained in this water is converted to sodium hypochlorite, i.e. the active ingredient required for anti-fouling.

System Overview

Simple and straightforward electrolytic process, combining two common consumables (seawater and electricity) to economically and safely generate critical sodium hypochlorite solution

The CTE system is typically used for small to medium production capacities, while PPE system is typically used for larger production capacities of sodium hypochlorite.

Concentric Tubular Electrolyzer

The ECHLOR-CTE system processes a sea water side stream from a main sea water flow to continuously produce hypochlorite for reinjection. The ECHLOR-CTE system produces chlorine, without the need for additional chemicals using a combination of specially coated anode tubes and a direct electrical current. The avoidance of chemicals eliminates the need for storage and handling of liquid hypochlorite, resulting in increased safety and operating cost reduction.
